Muriel is a bodyworker and yoga educator whose experience shines through in the knowledge she so openly shares with others. She believes the lineage of yoga and all healing arts are gifts of health and wellbeing for anyone who chooses to take the journey within.
She began her work in the healing arts in 1992, when she studied the body as a Fitness and Health Sciences major at University of California, San Diego. She was an aerobics instructor and personal trainer, then expanded into massage therapy in 1995 and yoga education in 2003.
Muriel’s yoga study started with Don and Amba Stapleton at the Nosara Yoga Institute Interdisciplinary Yoga Teacher Training in 2003. She received E-RYT 500 certification, which includes Nosara Self-Awakening Yoga Therapeutics Training and Essential Nature Restorative Yoga Teacher Training. In 2005, Muriel studied with BKS Iyengar and the system of Iyengar yoga at IYISF completing the 500 hour Advanced Studies Teacher Training. She was also trained by Judith Lasater in the art of Restorative Yoga. Her desire to keep learning led her again to BKS Iyengar and his family, and an intensive study at his School in India in 2007.
